- Keep the tabletop face-down on padding/blankets for the entire leg/base attachment — never work on the finished side.
- Test the self-storing extension leaf slides freely before fully tightening the apron hardware.
- Flip the assembled table with a second person — lift from the base/apron, never by the extension leaf mechanism.
Pro Tips
- Attach the legs/base to the apron while the tabletop is still face-down on a padded surface, then flip as a team — flipping a finished table alone risks the finish and your back.
- Test the self-storing extension leaf mechanism before final tightening of the apron screws — it's much harder to adjust once everything is snug.
