Critical Steps
- Install ALL top-bunk guardrails before anyone uses the bed — this is a safety requirement, not optional trim.
- Square the lower frame fully before attaching the upper bunk's side rails, or the whole structure racks.
- Confirm the ladder locks/hooks securely onto its bracket — a loose ladder is the most common bunk-bed callback.
Pro Tips
- Bunk beds are regulated for guardrail placement — never skip or loosely fit the top guardrails, even 'just to move it into place'.
- Assemble the lower bed frame completely and check it's square before attaching the upper bunk rails — errors compound going up.
