Critical Steps
- Lock all casters before loading the workbench with tools/weight — an unlocked rolling bench can shift unexpectedly during use.
- Fully seat and square the frame before attaching the wood top, or the top can end up slightly twisted relative to the base.
Pro Tips
- Attach the locking casters last, after the frame is fully assembled and square — makes it much easier to maneuver the heavy steel frame into position beforehand.
- Pre-thread every bolt by hand before using a tool to fully tighten — steel-to-steel bolts on this type of frame cross-thread easily if forced with a wrench from the start.
